Tooth extraction

When teeth become damaged, decayed or cracked, it could mean you are in need of a tooth extraction. Extractions are most commonly used when teeth are severely damaged and are unable to be saved. Contact us today about insurance coverage and billing.

Most extractions are complete with the use of anesthesia and a surgical instrument that will easily extract the tooth. You can expect there to be a feeling of pressure, but very little pain. Our dental team provides affordable extractions.

How are extractions completed

• Teeth blocking others from coming in

• Baby teeth that don't fall out in time

• Extraction to prepare for braces

• Wisdom teeth

• Prevent spread of infection

Why extractions are utilized:

There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. Sometimes a baby tooth has misshapen or long roots that prevent it from falling out as it should, and the tooth must be removed to make way for the permanent tooth to erupt. At other times, a tooth may have so much decay that it puts the surrounding teeth and jaw at risk of decay, so it might be recommended to remove and replacement with a bridge or implant. Infection, orthodontic correction, or problems with a wisdom tooth can also require removal of a tooth.

Once a tooth has been removed, neighboring teeth may shift, causing problems with chewing or with your jaw joint function. To avoid these complications, your dentist may recommend that you replace the extracted tooth.

Root canals are often used when a tooth has signs of severe damage that has infiltrated the root of the tooth. This type of procedure is commonly used to help repair the tooth without the use of extraction and prevent decay from spreading to other teeth.

Root canal pain can come on suddenly, and severely. If you are experiencing extreme pain due to a tooth that has extensive decay or damage, our team can see you immediately. Our staff bills to Medicaid, Care Credit and most insurance plans.

A root canal is the space between the root and the tooth. If the pulp tissue or nerve inside your tooth becomes inflamed or infected, it can become tender and you may need a root canal procedure. The most common cause is tooth decay, but other causes include trauma, multiple fillings, or a tooth needing a crown.

At Ryan Dental, we use the most up-to-date procedures, so your experience is as comfortable as possible.
